SUMMARY:ESG Workshop: The future of ESG Practices for rural MFIs and SMEs in East Africa
DESCRIPTION:What will be discussed: \n\nESG awareness-raising: Day one of the ESG awareness workshops will entail the following awareness issues based on a top-down approach.\n\n\n\n\nFeedback on the results from the ESG questionnaire submitted a month before the workshop. This will also involve discussions around the challenges and expectations of the workshop.\nTheoretical content\, global view on ESG’s latest practices with a focus on issues related to the environment\, gender\, smallholder farming and client protection.\nPolitical content and information about the evolution of regulation in East Africa.\n\n\n\n\nThe second day of the ESG workshop will deal with field visits and group discussions on sustainable agriculture. \n\n\n\n\nThe day will start with a field visit of three value chains in separate groups. The discussions with the farmers will focus mainly on S&E risks specific to agriculture. \nIn the afternoon\, a feedback session from the group with Agri experts round table.\n\n\n\n\nThe third day will mainly involve planning for the project’s next phase.\n\n\n\n\nPartner staff will be involved in various and adapted workshops dedicated to client protection\, gender integration\, and climate change risk mitigations for agri micro-financing.
